The basic function of the exercises utilizing this method is to ensure the uninterrupted flow of energy, in a constant alternation between the two qualities of yin and yang. This is achieved by both stationary stands and mild flows of movements that release body tension. With fluid, simple and natural styles called "forms", the body relaxes, gains strength, flexibility and endurance in order to recapture balance and stability.
