Zoumboulakis Gallery presents the new solo exhibition of Yiannis Adamakis "Passepartout" in which paintings of various dimensions will be presented.

[Jean] Passepartout, Jules Verne's anti-hero, lends his name to Adamakis' sixth solo exhibition, at the Zoumboulakis gallery • a symbol of the eternal test, the resourceful 'jabolia', the endless journey that characterizes the artist's entire painting career. In the works of the new work one encounters images from the greater part of the painting of his career. Sprinkled on the canvas, images from Verne, photographic memories, toys bring back the adventure that starts from childhood. Amidst all this, the painter, as he notes, "struggles to win a mirthful utopia, an unattainable assurance. A painful fulfillment."

Brief Biography:
Yiannis Adamakis was born in 1959 in Piraeus. He has presented his work in 37 individual and many group exhibitions in Greece, Belgium, France, Germany, Cyprus, Norway, Poland, Russia and Turkey, among which the international Art fairs: "Art Athina" (Athens), "Art Jonction " (Nice, France), "Lineart" (Ghent, Belgium), "Art Paris" (Paris, France) and "Art Thessaloni" (Thessaloniki). He has also participated in three international art meetings: in Cherepovets (Russia), Bielefeld (Germany) and Kusadasi (Turkey). The exhibition "Passepartout" is his sixth solo exhibition at Zoumboulakis Gallery. His texts have been published in magazines, newspapers and art catalogues. He lives and works in Athens.
