The Milan Scala Philharmonic Orchestra Quartet was formed in 1953, charting a triumphant course in the field of chamber music for decades. After a hiatus of several years, in 2001, four young musicians, leaders of the Orchestra with international soloist awards to their credit, decided to revive the historic structure.
Since then they have appeared at important festivals in Europe and America, have developed an intense recording activity and today are among the best quartets in the world. As elite representatives of Italian music they present Puccini's sensual Chrysanthemums and Beethoven's youthful Fourth Quartet.
In collaboration with the versatile pianist from Scotland Alasdair Beeson, who ideally combines a solo career while remaining a member of chamber music ensembles, they perform Cesar Franck's stirring Quintet, undoubtedly one of the most impressive romantic piano quintets.
