National Museum of Contemporary Art
The National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) in Athens has been created to give an official location for Hellenic and foreign artists to organize exhibitions and show their own collections. Between 2000 and 2014 the old Fix Building was renovated and converted to provide a prestigious space for the Museum of Contemporary Art.
In 2017 the museum opened its doors and at the latest since the "Documenta 14" exhibition it has gained international reputation. After several years of closure due to financial difficulties, the museum reopened its doors in February 2020.
